Caramelizing fruits, is a very simple and delicious cooking technique used almost in all the places around the globe. For fruit and sugary food lovers this is the most ideal way to have them as a delicious dessert. Almost all types of fruits you desire can be caramelized depending on the size of the fruit you want to caramelize. Small fruits like cherries can be caramelized as a whole and the larger fruits like apples or bananas should be cubed before caramelizing . Adding some lemon juice while caramelizing gives an extra lift to the taste of caramelized fruit.
For caramelizing fruit you need
Method
1. Just combine 1 cup granulated sugar and 4 tbsp of water in a heavy base.
2. Stir over on low heat till the sugars have dissolved. When the mixture boils, squeeze a bit of lemon and boil till the syrup turns to a deep golden brown.
3. Carefully add 1 tbsp of water and shake the pan to mix. Then spear a piece of fruit on a fork and dip in to the caramel to coat and leave until it cools and hardens. Your caramelized fruits are now ready to serve.

Hi Nora, this is simple but so great to go with desserts. I wish you a rewarding and exciting 2010 ahead of you! Just wanna ask if you have email subscription tool in your blog as I find this easier for me to keep up reading new posts than using reader! If not, don’t worry about it.
