It is always very important to clean and sanitize (killing disease causing bacteria) the stationary equipment and work surface of the kitchen, in order to get rid of disease causing bacteria which causes food poisoning and diarrhea.
Prevention is better than cure so here are some steps that can be followed for easy cleaning and sanitizing stationary equipments and work surface of the kitchen. Sanitizing would kill almost all the harmful bacteria and would keep your kitchen clean and safe from disease causing bacteria.
- First of all make sure you unplug all the electric equipment before starting to clean or else you could seriously injure yourself if you accidentally hit the power switch while you are cleaning a piece of equipment.
- Then disassemble the equipments where necessary but obviously not the worktables. Then clean all the immiscible parts and sanitize them by using a clean piece of cloth.
- Wash all the food contact surfaces, by using a detergent solution and clean cloths.
- Rinse the surface with warm water twice to make sure all the detergents have been removed.
- After sanitizing the surface with a double-strength sanitizing solution and rinse with separate clean cloths which should be used only for this purpose.
- Then allow to air dry for about 10 minutes and reassemble the equipments.
