Pineapple Cooking Tips

714px-pineapple_and_cross_sectionPineapples are probably the most recognizable of all fruits. They are delicious on their own, served in wedges or rings. The warm, distinctive aroma of the fruit is also very pleasing. It is a very versatile fruit, their sweet, acidic taste lending itself to sweet and savory dishes.

Pineapples go very well with other fruits especially in making salads or serving as a dessert. Sliced pine apple can be made into a variety of hot dessert. Sauté in butter and brown sugar, make crisp fritters or combine with other fruits on skewers to make grilled fruit kebabs. Pineapple juice is excellent when used as a marinade. The juice not only tenderizes tough meats, but also adds a taste of the tropics to recipes.

Also pineapples go extremely well with other tropical flavours like ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, all spice and even with coconut and ram. Combining pineapple with ram and coconut is the most famous cocktail.

Pineapples are perfect for savory dishes because of its refreshing sweet sour flavour. Traditionally they are cooked with pork and with gammon. Also it goes well with lamb, poultry, and almost all types of fishes, particularly in spicy dishes, salads and curries.

Here are really flavorful pineapple recipes from some of my fellow bloggers :
